The Thurmont Green Team is now looking for businesses and organizations to Adopt a Flower Bed Along the Thurmont Trolley Trail:
As part of the Thurmont Green Team’s “Adopt a Flower Bed” program, the Thurmont Municipal Office staff, along with the assistance of the Streets and Parks Dept., provided some TLC to the flower beds around the trolley building on East Main Street today. Many groups and businesses have adopted the beds along the Thurmont Trolley Trail and have them looking great! Many thanks to everyone involved! Want to be involved and adopt a flower bed? Thurmont Man Street Farmers Market

Get ready for Thurmont’s first Indoor Market! Many of your favorite vendors from last year’s farmers market will be here beginning March 20 & every Saturday thru May 1, from 9a-Noon.
Locally made honey, sauces, rubs, goat soap, homemade pies, donuts, bread, gourmet cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, organic greens (greens grown indoors), variety of mushrooms, Red Angus beef, bacon, pork chops, sausage, Easter flowers & hand-crafted items. On May 8 we will move the Market to the Thurmont Municipal Parking lot every Saturday thru September 25 from 9a-Noon with all of our indoor vendors & some new ones! Masks that cover your mouth & nose must be worn the entire time you are inside the market, no exceptions. Join us beginning March 20 at 9 a.m. at the Thurmont Plaza, 224 North Church Street, Unit C.
(Masks are mandatory for both indoor and outdoor markets- no exceptions. Only 15 people will be allowed at one time)

The Green Team is always looking for those who want to join the Green team to help spread the word about Green & Sustainable, and how what we do now does affect the future condition of the planet and where you live and work. Thurmont is a Certified Maryland Sustainable Community and a Maryland Sustainable Designated Community from the Department of Housing Community Development. Green Team Hand-Outs Spreading the Love!
The Green Team was awarded a grant from Maryland The Beautiful (a division under the Department of Housing Community Development) to purchase floral seeds with the Green Team contact on the back of the packet to handout at events to encourage planting of much needed flowers to sustain mother nature, and how to get involved with the Green Team. Tree City USAThurmont was awarded their first Tree City USA destination in 2018. At the 2nd Annual Green Fest in April of 2019, The Maryland Department of Natural Resources awarded the Town of Thurmont their 2nd year Tree City USA Designation! Thurmont received their 3rd Annual designation virtually in 2020 from the DNR.
